Butcher fined £3,000

A Croydon butcher has been prosecuted for food hygiene offences after EHOs received complaints over ‘bad smells and flies’ from the back of his shop.

Officers from Croydon LBC visited MM Halal Meat in London Road, Norbury, as part of a routine visit on 13 January 2009. Problems were found with pest control and there was no food safety management system in place.
