Chip shop owner sold out-of-date food

A Pontypool takeaway proprietor has been fined £2,000 after pleading guilty to eight food safety offences.

The prosecution was brought by Torfaen County BC following an inspection of the New Inn Fish Bar at The Highway, New Inn, in February 2010. Senior EHO Jason Austin discovered six pies and pasties on sale, some of which were three days out of date.
