The perils of not taking enough care of how we use our domestic fridges were highlighted in an article in today’s Daily Mail. Although the headline may be rather extreme, in the article Professor Tom Humphrey of the University of Liverpool provides plenty of sound advice about why we need to use our fridges safely. This advice includes why they need to be cool enough (when did you last check yours?), why raw meat should always go at the bottom and the dangers of relying on bad smells to tell us when food is unsafe.
