Swinging doors broke driver’s jaw

One of the largest metal recycling companies in the UK has been found guilty under health and safety legislation after one of its employees broke his jaw on a waste container door handle.

As Mr Bridges opened the rear door of a roll-on roll-off container the handle sprung out and hit him in the face, breaking his jaw in several places. He also lost three teeth. Mr Bridges received 47 stitches and was unable to eat solid food for three months.
